Discussion series: „Ideen-Forum Nachhaltige Stadt“
The new discussion series in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf invites committed citizens to suggest innovative ideas and projects for sustainable urban development in the district. The public call, open to all citizens who want to present their ideas for the district of urban policy, is issued four times a year. Interesting projects will be selected from all submitted concepts, which will be presented at the Ideas Forum and discussed with representatives of the district city council. The Ideas Forum is open to the public and takes place on a quarterly basis at BHR OX bauhaus reuse on Ernst-Reuter-Platz.
Citizen participation is not one-way. It is not unusual that innovative developments for a sustainable city emerge from ideas and debates, which originate from civic involvement.
Instead of relying exclusively on the citizens to make these ideas heard through submissions and inquiries, the District Office for Urban Development, Building and Environment will in future take the opposite approach and inquire directly with its citizens:
Do you have ideas that can contribute to sustainable development in the district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, whether in the socio-cultural, ecological or economic field – or ideally in all three areas jointly? Have you already formulated your idea, potentially discussed it passionately with your comrades-in-arms friends or colleagues and would you like to introduce it into the urban policy discourse?
The Ideas Forum for a Sustainable City will offer a direct and immediate platform for dialogue in the future. Once a quarter, the event will take place on Ernst-Reuter-Platz, in the temporary urban lab and transdisciplinary centre BHR OX bauhaus reuse.
The conditions for participation are very simple. The ideas must:
- must correspond to the objectives of sustainable urban development (link: Agenda 21),
- be located in the district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf,
- and have a realistic implementation reference.
The ideas must be submitted in advance – see below – and be formulated in such a way that these criteria can be checked beforehand. A selection of the submitted concepts will be given the opportunity in each forum to be presented and discussed with representatives from the district council. All other submissions that meet the above criteria will be shown in an exhibition. No financial funding is associated with the selection.
Submission deadline: May 31st 2020
Ideas Forum event: June 25th 2020, 6:00 pm
Submissions should be made electronically to the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
A maximum of four DIN A4 pages (including illustrations) in pdf format can be submitted per idea, as well as a video (optional) with a maximum duration of three minutes.
Important: The first event on 25.06.2020 will probably take place as a digital event due to current restrictions. Presentations will be online, participants will be connected via live stream. The technical details will be announced to the participants separately. We look forward to your ideas and stay healthy!
