BAUHAUS WEEK 100 (BW100)
Visitor tour and workshop as part of the programme of bauhaus reuse – outside the box
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus in 2019, the BAUHAUS WEEK 100 (BW100) presented current and innovative approaches in dealing with Bauhaus today and discussed with the participants, mainly from Central and Eastern Europe, various possibilities for adaptation as well as points of contact for cooperation and their own ways of dealing with the subject. This presentation included programmes and projects planned beforehand (since 2017) and for the year 2019 as well as some which are already being implemented. These were divided into four categories: programmes and projects of the Bauhaus institutions, i.e. (1) in Dessau, Berlin and Weimar or (2) joint projects of all three institutions; (3) projects of free or independent initiatives and actors as well as (4) cooperation projects of Bauhaus institutions with free actors.
The covered projects and programmes – insofar as their interdisciplinary profiles could be clearly identified – were in the fields of education (higher education and vocational training), research, publications/publishing, museum/exhibition, museum education, experimental building (sustainability), art, building culture, and art and architectural history.
The aim of the visitor tour was to stimulate the interest and dialogue of the participants, give impulses, initiate approaches for independent or cooperative projects and, in addition, to rethink the debate on Bauhaus with a transnational perspective.
