Greening Africa Together

Wir möchten Sie herzlich zur Präsentation und Ausstellung der aktuellen Projekte von Greening Africa Together/TU Berlin am Samstag und Sonntag, dem 08./09.Februar 2020 in die BHROX Bauhaus Reuse, Ernst-Reuter-Platz, Mittelinsel einladen.

Die Projekt Flashpresentations und Posterausstellung mit anschließendem Cocktail finden am 8. Februar ab 18.00 Uhr statt. Weitere Programmpunkte können Sie der anhängenden Einladung entnehmen.

Greening Africa Together ist ein gemeinsames internationales Service Learning Master Modul für erneuerbare Energien, Energieeffizienz und nachhaltige Entwicklung der TU Berlin und afrikanischer Hochschulen und NGOs des gleichnamigen Netzwerks. Masterstudierende aller beteiligten Partneruniversitäten in Senegal, Benin, Burkina Faso, DRCongo, Kamerun, Uganda, Kenia und der TUBerlin erarbeiten zuerst online kooperative Projekte, um konkrete Bedarfe der jeweiligen Bevölkerungsgruppen mit erneuerbaren Energien oder einem nachhaltigen Green Development Ansatz zu lösen. Die Projekte der internationalen Teams in den Bereichen nachhaltige Forstwirtschaft, Photovoltaik, Biogas, Fuel Briquettes, Water Quality, Food Processing/ Lebensmittelverarbeitung und nachhaltige Landwirtschaft werden dann gemeinsam in Summer Schools mit den lokalen NGOs und der Bevölkerung vor Ort realisiert.

Sehr wichtig ist auch die Zusammenarbeit mit lokalen und internationalen Institutionen, Organisationen der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit und Wirtschaftspartnern. Wir sind überzeugt, dass durch die intensive Projektentwicklung und -durchführung durch wissenschaftlich betreute Studierende, die damit zur Übernahme gesellschaftlicher Verantwortung der Hochschulen beitragen, eine bessere Anpassung an die lokalen Bedarfe erreicht werden kann. Das belegen auch die mittlerweile 3 jährigen Projekterfahrungen, die zur stetigen Erweiterung des Netzwerkes betragen.

Natürlich tragen die Projekte im Bereich erneuerbare Energien, nachhaltige Land- und Forstwirtschaft auch zur CO2reduktion und -vermeidung bei und sollen nun teilweise als CO2Kompensationsprojekte für Institutionen, Organisationen und Firmen angeboten werden. Auch dazu wird es erste Informationen geben.

Wir freuen uns auf Ihre Teilnahme, Ihre Fragen und Beiträge, um die vorgestellten Projekte weiter mit einem stetig wachsenden Netzwerk zuverlässig im März und April 2020 vor Ort umsetzen zu können.

Greening Africa Together

We would like to invite you to the presentation and exhibition of the current projects of Greening Africa Together/TU Berlin on Saturday and Sunday, February 08/9, 2020 at BHROX Bauhaus Reuse, Ernst-Reuter-Platz, Mittelinsel.

The project flash presentations and poster exhibition followed by cocktails will take place on February 8 starting at 18:00. Please see the attached invitation for additional program items.

Greening Africa Together is a joint international service learning master module on renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable development of the TU Berlin and African universities and NGOs of the network of the same name. Master students from all participating partner universities in Senegal, Benin, Burkina Faso, DRCongo, Cameroon, Uganda, Kenya and TU Berlin first develop online cooperative projects to solve concrete needs of the respective populations with renewable energy or a sustainable green development approach. The projects of the international teams in the areas of sustainable forestry, photovoltaics, biogas, fuel briquettes, water quality, food processing and sustainable agriculture are then implemented together in summer schools with local NGOs and the local population.

Very important is also the cooperation with local and international institutions, development cooperation organizations and business partners. We are convinced that through intensive project development and implementation by academically supervised students, who thus contribute to the universities’ assumption of social responsibility, a better adaptation to local needs can be achieved. This is also proven by the meanwhile 3 years of project experiences, which amount to the steady expansion of the network.

Of course, the projects in the field of renewable energies, sustainable agriculture and forestry also contribute to CO2 reduction and avoidance and are now to be offered in part as CO2 compensation projects for institutions, organizations and companies. Initial information will also be provided on this.

We look forward to your participation, questions and contributions to further implement the presented projects reliably on site with a steadily growing network in March and April 2020.
