New European Bauhaus – The Festival
Vom 09. bis 12. Juni 2022 wird das Festival der New European Bauhaus Initiative der Europäischen Kommission zum ersten Mal in Brüssel und darüber hinaus Menschen aller Gesellschaftsschichten zusammenbringen, um eine schöne, nachhaltige und inklusive Zukunft zu erkunden, zu diskutieren und zu gestalten. Das Festival umfasst das Forum (Konferenz), die Messe (verschiedene Aktivitäten und lokale Labs) und das Fest (mit Tanz, Installationen, Theater- und Musikaufführungen) in Brüssel sowie lokale Side Events in ganz Europa (mit Aktivitäten von Konzerten über Konferenzen bis hin zu vollwertigen Festivals).

re:klame @ BHROX bauhaus reuse
Als offizieller Partner des New European Bauhaus (NEB) ist das BHROX bauhaus reuse aktiv in das Festival des New European Bauhaus im Rahmen der lokalen Side Events eingebunden.
Das offizielle Side Event am BHROX ist eine partizipative Medien-Installation, die Messages zu den Zielen des New European Bauhaus und den Themen des NEB-Festivals im öffentlichen Raum zeigt. Die Botschaften werden auf der Medieninstallation re:klame im Stadtraum veröffentlicht, einer großformatigen “Anzeigetafel” auf dem BHROX bauhaus reuse Gebäude in Berlin.
Das BHROX wurde aus den wiederverwendeten Stahl-Glas-Elementen der Nordfassade des berühmten Bauhauses in Dessau gebaut, die aus der großen Nachkriegsrenovierung von 1976 stammen.
Die Messages sind prägnant und maximal 26 Zeichen lang und geben Statements aus der NEB- Community aus den vertretenen NEB-Ländern wieder, mit einem Call innerhalb der NEB-Community übermittelt werden. Dabei gemein ist den ausgewählten und dargestellten Slogans und Statements die Botschaft für eine nachhaltige Zukunft.

Das BHROX bauhaus reuse steht weithin sichtbar auf der Mittelinsel des Ernst-Reuter-Platzes, der täglich von mehr als 60.000 Autos umkreist wird sowie von tausenden Radfahrer*innen und Fußgänger*innen – womit die Messages in Berlin und darüber sichtbar werden.
Parallel dazu werden die gezeigten Botschaften über die Soziale Medien (u.a. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) kommuniziert und geteilt, um die Statements sowie ihre Urheber und NEB-Partner*innen weiterzuvermitteln und zu vernetzen.

re:klame ist eine Kunst- und Medieninstallation von zukunftsgeraeusche. Der Name bezieht sich auf das deutsche Wort “Reklame” für öffentliche Werbung (von französisch “réclamer”) und auf den englischen Begriff “to reclaim”, der für den Akt der Wiedererlangung beziehungsweise des Zugangs zu einer wichtigen Interessenssphäre steht – in diesem Fall, die Sphäre der öffentlichen Debatte über unsere Zukunft, die es zu gestalten gilt, im Sinne des NEB-Mottos: beautiful, sustainable, together.

Das BHROX bauhaus reuse wurde von zukunftsgeraeusche als transdisziplinäres Zentrum und öffentliches Stadt-Labor gegründet. Dafür wurde es 2019 in Kooperation mit dem Berliner Bezirk Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf auf dem Berliner Ernst-Reuter-Platz wiedererrichtet. Zuvor befand es sich von 2015-2018 am Berliner Bauhaus- Archiv.

Während des NEB-Festivals wird das BHROX bauhaus reuse für die Öffentlichkeit geöffnet sein und ebenso als lokaler Informationspunkt in Berlin für das NEB und das NEB-Festival dienen.
Im Anschluss werden das Side Event am BHROX, die gezeigten Messages und die teilnehmenden NEB-Partner*innen dokumentiert und online und über die Sozialen Medien, innerhalb der NEB- Community und darüber hinaus veröffentlicht.

New European Bauhaus (NEB)
Unter dem Motto “beautiful, sustainable, together” wurde die Initiative New European Bauhaus von der Präsidentin der Europäischen Kommission Ursula von der Leyen in ihrer Rede zur Lage der Europäischen Union 2020 ins Leben gerufen. Das NEB ist ein ökologisches, wirtschaftliches und kulturelles Projekt, das darauf abzielt, Design, Nachhaltigkeit, Zugänglichkeit, Erschwinglichkeit und Investitionen miteinander zu verbinden, um zur Verwirklichung des europäischen Green Deal beizutragen. Die Kernwerte des New European Bauhaus sind daher Nachhaltigkeit, Ästhetik und Inklusion.

Zugänglichkeit / Barrierefreiheit:
Die BHROX bauhaus reuse (inkl. barrierefreiem WC) und der Platzbereich auf der Mittelinsel selbst sind barrierefrei. Der offizielle Zugang zur Mittelinsel erfolgt über die U-Bahn-Station Ernst-Reuter Platz (U2), die noch nicht barrierefrei ausgebaut ist und von Menschen mit Behinderungen nur mit Hilfe betreten werden kann. Eine Alternative ist die Zufahrt mit Genehmigung direkt auf die Mittelinsel (Zufahrt Südseite, vis-à-vis Hardenbergstraße). Bitte sprechen Sie uns darauf an!

New European Bauhaus – The Festival
From 9th to 12th of June 2022, for the first time in Brussels and abroad the Festival of the New European Bauhaus will bring together people from all walks of life to explore, debate and shape a beautiful, sustainable, and inclusive future. The festival features the Forum (high-level conference), Fair (diverse activities and local labs) and Fest (with dance, installations, theatre, and music performances) in Brussels and local Side Events across Europe (with activities from concerts to conferences to fully-fledged festivals).

Local Side Event in Berlin:
re:klame @ BHROX bauhaus reuse
As an official partner of New European Bauhaus, the BHROX bauhaus reuse will be actively involved in the Festival of the New European Bauhaus, as part of the local Side Events.
The official Side Event at BHROX will be a participatory media happening, displaying a public show of evocative messages following the general aims of the NEB and topics of the NEB-festival.
The messages will be shown on the large-scale urban media-installation called re:klame, a huge urban «billboard» on top of the BHROX bauhaus reuse building in Berlin. The BHROX is built with the reused steel-glass elements of the north façade of the famous Bauhaus in Dessau; from its great post-war renovation in 1976.
The messages will be concise and of maximum 26 characters and will include statements by the NEB-community from the represented NEB-countries, based on a call within the NEB-community. Significant message for a sustainable future will be the core consent of all selected and displayed slogans and statements.
The BHROX bauhaus reuse is located widely visible in the middle of the largest Berlin roundabout, the Ernst-Reuter-Platz, each day encircled by more than 60,000 cars, thousands of bicyclists and pedestrians – what will ensure the messages being recognized in Berlin and beyond.
Parallel the displayed messages will be communicated and shared via social media (twitter, Instagram, Facebook) to spread and link the statements and their authors and NEB-partners.

re:klame is a media art installation by zukunftsgeraeusche. The name refers to the German word «Reklame» for public advertisement (from French «réclamer») and to the English term «to reclaim» which stands for the act of regaining access to an important sphere of interest – in this case to enter the public sphere of debate about our future, to be created: beautiful, sustainable, together.

The BHROX bauhaus reuse was founded by zukunftsgeraeusche as a transdisciplinary center and public urban lab. For this it was re-erected on the Berlin Ernst-Reuter-Platz in 2019, in cooperation with the Berlin district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. Before it was located at the Berlin Bauhaus- Archive from 2015-2018.

During the NEB-Festival the BHROX bauhaus reuse will be opened for public and will serve as a local information point in Berlin for the NEB and the NEB-festival.
Afterwards the Side Event at BHROX, the displayed messages and participating partners, will be documented, and shared online and via social media, within the NEB-community and beyond.

New European Bauhaus (NEB)
Following the slogan «beautiful, sustainable, together», the New European Bauhaus initiative was launched by President Ursula von der Leyen in her 2020 State of the Union address. The NEB is an environmental, economic, and cultural project, aiming to combine design, sustainability, accessibility, affordability, and investment in order to help deliver the European Green Deal. The core values of the New European Bauhaus are thus sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusiveness.

Accessibility
The BHROX bauhaus reuse (incl. barrier-free WC) and the square area on the central island («Mittelinsel») itself are barrier-free. The official access to the central island is via the subway station Ernst-Reuter Platz (U2), which is not yet barrier-free and can be accessed by people with disabilities only with assistance. An alternative is the approach, with permission, directly to the center island (driveway south side, vis-à-vis Hardenbergstraße). Please contact us about it!
