Das Projekt BHROX

Das bauhaus reuse (BHROX) auf der Mittelinsel des Ernst-Reuter-Platzes in Berlin ist ein neues, öffentliches Zentrum und Stadtlabor für transdisziplinäre Bildung, Forschung und Beteiligung.

In den kommenden Jahren befasst sich das Programm BHROX in Diskurs, Praxis und performativen Projekten mit den Themen: moderne Gesellschaft, Politik und Baukultur, Wohnen, nachhaltige Stadtentwicklung und Kreislaufgesellschaft sowie Zukunft von Bildung und Arbeit. Der gläserne Bau besteht aus wiederverwendeten Fassadenelementen aus dem Bauhaus Dessau, die dessen großer Nachkriegssanierung von 1976 entstammen.

Das Konzept bauhaus reuse steht für das Wiederverwenden und Weiterdenken aus materieller und sozio-kultureller Perspektive: eine Auseinandersetzung mit Methoden der Interpretation und des Umgangs mit dem Erbe, den Leitbildern und Narrativen der Moderne.

Einen Schwerpunkt, beginnend in 2019 mit dem Festival re:bauhaus, bildet das Thema der gesellschaftlichen Emanzipation und der politischen Bedingungen im Kontext von Bauhaus und funktionalistischer Moderne, im transnationalen Austausch, mit Fokus auf Mittel- und Osteuropa. Weitere Programmschwerpunkte in 2019 sind: die Festivalzentrale der Bauhauswoche Berlin und in Planung zur Triennale der Moderne 2019 in Berlin.

The bauhaus reuse (BHROX) on the central island of the Ernst-Reuter-Platz in Berlin is a new, public center and city laboratory for transdisciplinary education, research and participation.

In the coming years, the program BHROX will focus on discourse, practice and performative projects with the topics: modern society, politics and building culture, housing, sustainable urban development and recycling society as well as the future of education and work. The glass construction consists of reused façade elements from the Bauhaus Dessau, which originated from its great postwar reconstruction of 1976.

The concept bauhaus reuse stands for the reuse and further thinking from a material and socio-cultural perspective: an examination of methods of interpretation and dealing with the heritage , the mission statements and narratives of modernity.

A focal point, starting in 2019 with the re: bauhaus festival, is the theme of social emancipation and political conditions in the context of Bauhaus and functionalist modernity, in transnational exchange, with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe. Further program focuses in 2019 are: the festival headquarters of the Bauhaus Week Berlin and in planning for the Triennale der Moderne 2019 in Berlin.
