Since 2013, the master’s project “Designing Smart Cities – Creative Strategies for Urban Challenges” has taken place every winter semester at the TU Berlin.
Within the framework of the project’s problem definition, which is developed together with a real project partner, the TUB’s Department of Portfolio Development and Renewal of Settlement Units (Department Head: Prof. Elke Pahl-Weber) and the Department of Strategic Leadership and Global Management (Department Head: Prof. Dr. Dodo zu Knyphausen-Aufseß) jointly design, shape and supervise the project study.
In this interdisciplinary project, master’s students from various disciplines, such as business administration, urban planning, architecture and engineering, jointly identify user-related needs and work in small groups to develop innovative solutions to the project partner’s problem.
The goal is to develop conceptual prototypes and an implementation concept, on the basis of which the potential of the solutions can be credibly communicated and adapted to specific locations.
The course language is English.
