Alle Beiträge werden ins Englische übersetzt.
BHROX bauhaus reuse, Ernst-Reuter-Platz, Berlin
The symposium Functionalism and Bauhaus at the BHROX bauhaus reuse for the Triennale der Moderne 2019 in Berlin, as well as the corresponding symposium at the National Gallery in Prague last June, are part of the re:bauhaus festival. The symposia deal with the development and social identification with modernism and its reception in Central Europe. With a view to the emergence and perception of functionalist modernism using the example of Czechoslovakia and the significance of the Bauhaus in the Weimar Republic, the symposium in Berlin looks at the development from the heyday of functionalism in the interwar period as well as the debates about the Bauhaus and its reception in Central Europe.
The symposium in Berlin will look at the development from the heyday of functionalism in the interwar period and the debates and handling of the heritage in the post-war period in the countries of Central Europe and in both parts of Germany up to identification and reception today.
With: Thilo Hilpert, Simone Hain, Beate Störtkuhl, Vendula Hnídková, Helena Doudová, Jana Kořínková, Kerstin Wittmann-Englert.
Curated by Robert K. Huber, BHROX bauhaus reuse / zukunftsgeraeusche GbR, in cooperation with Helena Doudová, National Gallery Prague.
