Das Programm THE ONLY ARTIST welches aus Anlass des Lockdowns im Frühjahr 2020 an den Start ging, wird seither in regelmässigen Abständen von Künstler*innen bespielt. Dabei sind neue Werke und Premieren am BHROX entstanden, die darüber hinaus zu einer performativen Auseinandersetzung mit dem Zeitgeist in der Pandemie, im und mit dem urbanen Raum geworden sind.
Für einen Kurzaufenthalt von einer Woche im BHROX können sich Künster*innen ab sofort bewerben. Die Kunstprojekte sollen zeitlich begrenzt sein und am Ende einem Publikum online präsentiert werden.
Die Auswahl erfolgt genre-offen. Der Glaskasten wird zum Atelier und Kunstraum – die Öffentlichkeit nimmt digital daran teil. Arbeiten mit Fokus auf Stadt und Gesellschaft unter dem Arbeitsthema „modernpunk“ sind besonders willkommen.
Die Dauer und inhaltliche Gestaltung der Aufenthalte im Pavillon sind individuell und projektabhängig. Die Projekte können sowohl raumgreifende Installationen, als auch individuelle Werkstatt-Arbeiten sein.

In order to fill and ease these times of self-isolation, the BHROX bauhaus reuse offers the transparent pavilion at the Ernst-Reuter-Platz to artists for work and development purposes. The BHROX bauhaus reuse, at the centre of the currently lonely central traffic island at Ernst-Reuter-Platz in Berlin, can now be used max. 1 week as a broadcasting and installation space for artistic works.
Artists can now apply for a week residency at BHROX. The art projects must be temporary and presented online to an audience after completion.
The selection is genre-open. bauhaus reuse glass box becomes a studio and art space, accessible by the public who can participate digitally. Works focusing on city and society under the working theme “modernpunk” are particularly welcome.
The duration and nature of the residencies in the pavilion are tailored to each individual project and its needs. The projects can be room-sized installations or individual studio works.
We gladly welcome musicians, authors, sculptors, performers, audio and video artists, actors, and artists of other fields.
We accept applications in the form of a short video (max. 2 minutes) or a text starting immediately.
